主讲人简介:
Dr Yinghui Tian is a tenure full professor and, Fellow of the Institution of Engineering Australia, currently as an ARC (Australian Research Council) Future Fellow, working at the Department of Infrastructure Engineering of the University of Melbourne. His research background is in offshore geotechnics.
He is the recipient of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) David Hislop Award for the best paper on offshore engineering in 2017. He has produced a total of 209 publications (117 journal papers, 64 conference papers, 3 book chapters, 25 technical reports for industry projects, excluding ~30 journal papers published in Chinese).
讲座内容简介:
Our generation is facing two unprecedented challenges: ensuring secure and affordable energy supplies and meeting climate Net Zero CO2 targets. Offshore wind is seen globally as one of the key solutions to tackle these challenges. With record-breaking numbers of new installations in the past three years, the offshore wind industry has a total installed capacity of 64.3 GW, predominantly fixed-bottom turbines in shallow waters (< 60m). The next phase involves developments in deepwater regions (> 60m) using floating wind turbines to tap stronger and more consistent wind resources further offshore.
This seminar reviews the speaker’s research work in studying the geotechnical behaviour of anchoring systems. Further, the speaker presents the currently ongoing studies on developing an integrated modeling package, where the structure, hydrodynamics and anchoring system (foundation) are modeled in a balanced way.
